The Downtown Ithaca Local Development Corporation provides economic development within the Tompkins County community and its downtown Ithaca central city core, as the owner of the Ithaca Downtown Conference Center set to open in early 2024. A state-of-the-art facility, the Ithaca Downtown Conference Center is designed to attract visitors by accommodating trade shows, conferences, meetings, public expositions, and social, sporting and community events. 

The LDC was originally formed on April 4, 2003 by the Downtown Ithaca Alliance and was formally reestablished in early 2020 for the purpose of constructing and operating the Ithaca Downtown Conference Center. The LDC was awarded NYS tax exempt status on October 25, 2021.
